Recess Hotel & Club is set to become a premier lifestyle destination in the heart of Savannah, opening in Fall 2026. This exciting new hospitality venture is housed within the historic Manger Building and features 221 thoughtfully designed guest rooms. This role as a Barback in the Lobby Bar of Recess Hotel & Club offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of a newly opening team dedicated to delivering outstanding hospitality. Barbacks are essential members who support the bartending team to ensure smooth daily operations. The position requires individuals who are energetic, dependable, and passionate about hospitality. Barbacks assist in stocking and organizing supplies such as beer, wine, spirits, mixers, glassware, and ice, allowing bartenders to focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences. In addition, they help maintain cleanliness and organization across the bar and lounge areas and assist with inventory management and special service periods.

Job Requirements

Previous restaurant, bar, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout a shift
Ability to safely lift and move kegs, cases of beverages, ice, and other supplies
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
Professional presentation and grooming standards
Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork
Interest in hospitality and beverage operations with a desire to learn and grow

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

Support bartenders throughout service by stocking beer, wine, spirits, mixers, glassware, ice, and supplies
Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the bar, lounge, storage, and service areas
Replenish ice, garnishes, syrups, and other bar ingredients as needed during service
Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing inventory deliveries
Collect and wash glassware, bar tools, and service equipment while maintaining sanitation standards
Remove trash, recycling, and empty boxes from service areas as needed
Prepare garnishes and assist with beverage preparation tasks according to established standards
Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs to leadership
Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties
Collaborate with bartenders, servers, culinary team members, and leadership to ensure smooth operations
Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations
Support a welcoming and professional environment for guests, club members, and team members
Assist with special events and high-volume service periods as needed
