The Barback role at The Setai holds vital importance within the bar operations, ensuring that the bartenders can deliver an elevated guest experience without interruptions. This support position requires an individual with a strong eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills, and an ability to maintain efficiency during high-volume service periods. The Barback is responsible for ensuring all bar stations remain fully stocked with liquors, wines, beers, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and essential supplies throughout service hours. Maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and adherence to hygiene standards is also a critical aspect of the role. This includes the upkeep of storage rooms, bar equipment, and the diligent polishing and restocking of glassware to meet The Setai’s premium presentation criteria.
Additionally, the Barback assists with the smooth running of opening and closing procedures, such as setting up the bar before service and efficiently clearing empty bottles, trash, and recyclables during and after service discreetly. The position demands excellent communication and teamwork skills, working closely with bartenders, servers, and management to support seamless operations. Compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, in line with both local laws and Forbes Travel Guide standards, is a must. The candidate must uphold The Setai’s luxury service culture, demonstrating professionalism, a polished personal appearance, and a respectful demeanor at all times.

Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required to meet operational needs. Job Duties
- support bartenders during service by ensuring all bar stations are fully stocked and organized at all times
- replenish liquor, wine, beer, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and bar supplies
- maintain cleanliness and organization of the storage rooms and equipment
- polish and restock glassware according to The Setai’s presentation and cleanliness standards
- assist with opening and closing procedures, including setting bar
- remove empty bottles, trash, and recyclables promptly and discreetly
- follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines in compliance with local regulations and Forbes standards
- communicate effectively with bartenders, servers, and management to support smooth operations
- assist with inventory organization and restocking deliveries as needed
- uphold The Setai’s luxury service culture, professionalism, and grooming standards at all times
