Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 1-year experience as a food runner or similar role in hospitality
- TABC certification or ability to obtain required
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- capable of working flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- able to stand or walk for extended periods
- ability to perform repetitive motions
- excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- ability to maintain professionalism and calm under pressure
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 1-year food runner experience or DRA experience preferred
- other relevant hotel or food and beverage experience will be considered
- ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate in English with guests, management, and co-workers
- ability to answer guest questions and describe menu items
- ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor
- ability to work cohesively with co-workers within and outside of department
- ability to prioritize, organize, and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment
- excellent customer service, service recovery, and problem-solving skills
- must be TABC certified or have ability to obtain a valid TABC permit
- must be able to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays
- able to move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
- able to stand or walk for extended periods in indoor or outdoor environments
- capable of repetitive motion of arms, hands, and legs
Job Duties
- Assist in bar setup and opening, as well as closing
- maintain a clean and organized work area
- stock the bar stations to par and maintain a par level of liquor bottles
- maintain clean glassware as needed
- become completely familiar with the liquors and beers sold in the bar
- greet all guests promptly and courteously
- assist and focus attention on bartenders and servers needs, remaining calm and courteous
- have complete knowledge of service times and menu
- have complete knowledge of floor plan, table numbers, and seat numbers
- deliver food to correct tables according to ticket, floor plan, and seat numbers
- inquire if additional service is needed from guests upon delivery and inform server or manager
- clear and disinfect tables before, during, and after service
- think clearly, quickly, maintain concentration, and make concise decisions
- perform job functions with minimal supervision
- ensure work area is clean and free of standing water, debris, or any objects obstructing safe and efficient job performance
