The role of Barback at Hotel Genevieve is a vital position that supports the efficient operation of the bar area and assists bartenders in delivering a seamless guest experience. This role involves ensuring the bar remains fully stocked with bottles, beverages, ice, and other necessary supplies throughout service hours. Additionally, the barback maintains cleanliness by washing and restocking barware and glassware, as well as removing dirty dishes and utensils promptly and professionally. The barback also prepares the bar before service shifts, which includes wiping down surfaces and replenishing condiments and supplies to ensure readiness and cleanliness. This role is critical in maintaining the flow behind the scenes, allowing bartenders to focus on preparing and serving drinks to guests efficiently. Attention to safety is paramount, as the barback must correctly handle cleaning compounds and chemicals to maintain a sanitary environment. Job Duties
- stock bottles, beverages, ice and supplies needed during service
- wash and restock barware/glasses
- remove dirty dishes, glasses and silverware, place in respective trays
- prepare bar for service – wipe clean, refill all condiments and supplies at the end of each shift
- fill condiment containers, ice, other bar/table supplies
- perform opening and closing work as requested
- safely use appropriate cleaning compounds and chemicals
