The Barback role at Colony Grill is an essential position within the hospitality team, designed for service-oriented and hardworking individuals eager to contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the bar. This position involves supporting bartenders and management to ensure the bar area is well-prepared, maintained, and stocked at all times. As a barback, you will be responsible for setting up the bar before shifts, replenishing supplies such as liquor, glasses, napkins, and straws, preparing garnishes, refilling ice wells, changing beer kegs, and keeping the bar area clean and organized. Your role will directly impact the flow of service and the overall guest experience, requiring strong multitasking and communication skills to coordinate effectively with managers, frontline team members, and kitchen staff.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in fast-paced restaurant or bar environment preferred
  • excellent organizational and communication skills
  • able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • capable of lifting and carrying heavy items up to 50 pounds
  • ability to multitask and work well within a team environment

Job Duties

  • Assist bartender and manager with efficient bar set up from the beginning to end of shift
  • keep bar stocked with liquor, glasses, napkins, and all other necessary items before and during service
  • prepare garnishes, refill ice wells, change beer kegs, and restock napkins and straws
  • keep bar area neat, cleaning as needed, remove glassware and organize all sections of bar stations
  • coordinate with managers, frontline team members and kitchen staff to ensure efficient service to guests
