The Banquet Barback role within Legends Global’s Food & Beverage Department supports the dynamic and fast-paced environment of live events, specifically at the Anchorage Convention Centers and other venues like the Alaska Railroad. This part-time hourly position reports to the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Banquet Captain and is classified as non-exempt under the FLSA. The primary responsibility is to assist bartenders by managing ice, glassware, and additional product needs at bars during events. The Banquet Barback is essential in maintaining the efficiency and quality of beverage service, ensuring all supplies and inventory are well-stocked, organized, and properly handled. A successful candidate must hold TIPS or TAMS certification in addition to a Food Handler certification, meeting the legal requirements of the municipality and state.
The role involves maintaining strict adherence to health and sanitation laws, responsible management and security of product storage areas, and supporting bartenders during busy periods or breaks. It requires effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including using radios for instructions. The position demands physical endurance as the work involves considerable walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating in high-energy environments with fluctuating schedules, which may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Team members must have a positive and outgoing attitude, the ability to follow directions carefully, and the flexibility to respond to fast-paced and sometimes challenging conditions. Job Requirements
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Must be TIPS/TAMS and Food Handler certified, provide a valid copy of the certification card and carry card at all times while on duty
- Must have sufficient math ability to accurately count inventory
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to communicate, receive and execute instructions via radio
- Knowledge of local, state and federal health department standards
- Knowledge of rules and regulations regarding alcohol service
- Must have ability to take directions and effectively perform the work
- Must speak and understand English well enough to converse with customers, supervisors and employees
- Must have an outgoing, positive attitude in dealing with patrons and employees
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Maintains inventory and stock of all supplies at all bar locations
- Maintains rules and regulations of health and sanitation laws, as well as safe transfer/storage procedures
- Responsible for keeping all product storage areas locked and secured during events
- Reports to work in appropriate uniform, for assigned location and event function order
- Maintains organized and clean storeroom
- Enters transfers onto inventory sheets
- Stands in for bartenders during breaks
- Assists in running dirty glassware to kitchen
- Other duties as assigned by food and beverage management
