The company is currently seeking part-time Barbacks for the Raleigh Convention Center location. This role offers a wage range of $13 to $14 per hour and requires workers who are flexible with shifts, including varying days and hours, with open availability preferred. As a Barback at Sodexo Live, the position plays a vital support role in assisting bartenders to ensure efficient, timely, and high-quality service. The Barback is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, replenishing supplies, and preparing fresh garnishes following proper inventory protocols such as the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) system.
This position demands physical stamina, as it requires significant walking or moving around during shifts that may exceed eight hours. Barbacks must be able to stand for long periods and often perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, lifting up to 35 pounds regularly, and occasionally moving items weighing up to 50 pounds. Attention to health and safety standards is crucial, including adherence to sanitation codes in cleaning bar equipment and storage areas.

- legal age to serve alcohol or work as bartender as per local and state laws

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), or equivalent experience
- 0 to 1 year of relevant experience
- must be of legal age to serve alcohol or work as a bartender according to local and state regulations
Job Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the bar, bar furniture, tables, and other tools
- collect empty glasses and wash glassware as needed to ensure adequate supply for serving customers
- prepare fresh garnishes for drinks using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) system
- replenish the bar or designated station with supplies and transport supplies to the bar area
- anticipate and communicate restocking needs
- maintain cleanliness of bar area, beer drawers, storage, and refrigeration areas to comply with health code standards
- spend a significant amount of time walking or using other means of circulation
- stand or walk for extended periods during shifts that may exceed 8 hours
- reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
- arrive to work and be punctual for scheduled shifts with sufficient regularity
- perform other assigned tasks that may vary depending on business needs and client requirements
