As a prominent player in the hospitality industry, the company offers dynamic career opportunities that support personal growth and skill development within the food and beverage sector.
The role of Barback is pivotal in supporting the Food and Beverage staff, particularly the bartenders, by ensuring that the bar area is well-stocked, clean, and efficiently organized at all times. This position involves a series of essential tasks that contribute directly to the smooth operation of the bar and the overall guest experience. Responsibilities include restocking beer, liquor, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice, and other bar supplies throughout shifts, cleaning and polishing glassware and bar tools, removing trash and empty bottles promptly, and assisting bartenders in preparing garnishes and other bar ingredients. The role also requires adherence to strict food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations, including following the California Food Handlers guidelines and maintaining proper certifications such as a Food Handler's Card and Responsible Beverage Server (RBS) Certification.
In addition to physical tasks like lifting up to 75 pounds and constantly standing or walking, the Barback must maintain an organized and clean working environment within the bar, storage rooms, and service stations. They need to monitor inventory levels closely, communicate with management about shortages, and support opening, closing, and side-work procedures. The position demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills to contribute positively to the team and interact professionally with guests, promoting a superior gaming and dining experience. Candidates must pass a thorough background check due to the nature of gaming operations and maintain an active gaming license as required by the City of Chula Vista.
