Job Description

HHM Hotels is a prominent hospitality company dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences across its diverse portfolio of hotels. With a reputation built on quality service, sustainable operations, and employee development, HHM Hotels strives to offer an environment where both guests and team members feel valued and supported. Known for its commitment to excellence and sustainability through initiatives like the EarthView program, HHM Hotels continues to lead the industry by integrating innovative practices and fostering a culture of continuous growth and learning.

This role of Barback at HHM Hotels is pivotal within the food and beverage department, specifically in the bar operation segment. As a Barback, you will be responsible for preparing and servicing bars within the hotel according to established guest service standards and sustainability guidelines. This is more than just a support role; it provides a foundational opportunity for growth within the hotel’s food and beverage career path. Starting as a Food Runner, employees can advance to becoming Servers and ultimately Bartenders, making the Barback role an excellent stepping stone for those seeking a career in hospitality.

In this role, you will greet and acknowledge guests with a warm and professional demeanor while performing barback functions. You will be responsible for retrieving orders from the storeroom, verifying stocked items against requisitions, and ensuring bar supplies are accurate and complete upon delivery. Your duties will include preparing perishable garnishes and fruits by cutting, slicing, and peeling them as needed, as well as mixing and pouring juices in quantities aligned with business forecasts. You will also assist bartenders in maintaining adequate stock levels for essential supplies like stir sticks, napkins, and matches.

Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene is crucial; you will ensure the bar area, beer lockers, refrigeration units, and storage spaces comply with health code standards at all times. Ice management tasks such as scooping ice and replenishing containers will be part of your daily responsibilities. You will also manage empty liquor bottle returns and requisitions and carry out routine maintenance of beer taps and kegs.

As part of HHM Hotels’ commitment to sustainability, you will actively participate in EarthView initiatives, adhering to environmentally responsible practices throughout your duties. Safe working habits are emphasized, requiring the use of protective safety equipment and compliance with MSDS and OSHA standards. This dynamic position demands a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the willingness to perform additional duties as requested by management.

This is a role suited for individuals who enjoy a fast-paced environment, take pride in their work, and are eager to grow within the hospitality industry. Whether you are starting your career or expanding your skills, the Barback position at HHM Hotels offers the perfect blend of responsibility, development, and the chance to contribute to a recognized leader in hotel operations. HHM Hotels provides competitive wages for full-time and part-time opportunities and offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the health, well-being, and financial security of their team members.
