Job Description

16 On Center Chicago is a distinguished entertainment and hospitality company that owns and operates a diverse portfolio of live music venues, third-party production services, restaurants, bars, and food halls across the vibrant cities of Chicago and New York. As one of the country's leading independent promoters, 16 On Center is dedicated to delivering exceptional live entertainment experiences while fostering a dynamic and inclusive work environment. The company prides itself on its community-driven approach and believes that the diversity of its team members — in terms of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives — is crucial to its ongoing success and strong connection with its audience.

16 On Center is actively committed to inclusive hiring practices and encourages candidates from all walks of life to apply, reinforcing the company’s support for equal employment opportunities regardless of race, religion, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. This inclusive philosophy is embedded into the culture and everyday operations of the company, offering a workplace environment where all employees feel valued and empowered.

Within this vibrant organization, the role of Backbone at MONEYGUN — a part of the 16 On Center family — plays a pivotal role in maintaining the flow and quality of service at a fast-paced, high-volume cocktail bar. This position is seasonal, running from May through September, and offers an hourly wage of $12.96 plus tips with the potential for transition into a full-time position based on individual performance and the evolving needs of the business. Employees working in this role benefit from paid leave and paid sick leave as mandated by Chicago law, transit benefits via a pre-tax payroll deduction program, and complimentary or discounted tickets to shows at 16 On Center venues.

The Backbone position is essential to supporting both the bar and dining areas to operate smoothly during busy service hours. Candidates in this role are responsible for handling a variety of tasks such as bar setup, restocking, cleaning, and cocktail batching. They also play an important part in ensuring that the dining environment is clean, organized, and conducive to an excellent guest experience. Working collaboratively with bartenders and servers, a Backbone team member helps maintain an efficient service flow by managing stock levels, monitoring dish machine performance, producing ice, and promptly delivering food and beverage orders directly to guests.

This role requires a dependable person with strong attention to detail, able to work effectively in a fast-moving space and switch priorities seamlessly as the demands of service dictate. The position also demands physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift. MONEYGUN seeks individuals who thrive in a team-oriented setting and are proactive about jumping in where needed to maintain a high standard of service quality. Weekend availability and the ability to work late nights are required to meet the operational demands of this high-volume venue.

Joining MONEYGUN as a Backbone means becoming part of a passionate team that values hard work, dedication, and the joy of creating memorable guest experiences. It is an opportunity to build your hospitality skill set in an exciting and supportive environment while contributing to one of the most prominent live entertainment organizations in the nation.
