The Barback position at Gibsons Restaurant Group is vital for supporting the smooth functioning of the bar area and enhancing customer satisfaction. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and organization behind the bar, assisting bartenders by performing essential prep work, and ensuring that the bar is fully stocked and ready to serve patrons efficiently. The Barback plays a key role in delivering excellent customer service by attending to guests needs promptly and professionally, working closely with bartenders to uphold the high standards of the establishment. Responsibilities include restocking liquor, refilling ice bins, replacing kegs, cutting garnishes, washing glasses, and sometimes taking food orders from customers dining within the bar area. Additionally, this position requires adaptability to work shifts in varied conditions, including outdoor environments and a floating dock setting, necessitating a flexible and resilient attitude. Being punctual, adhering to dress code standards, maintaining a neat personal appearance, and participating actively in pre-shift meetings to absorb and share ideas are important expectations for this role. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Six months to one year related experience
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally with customers and other staff in fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to maintain poise and positive personality when under pressure

Job Duties
- Maintain a neat and clean bar area on a continual basis
- Responsible for basic prep work behind the bar including but not limited to refilling ice bins, restocking liquor, replacing kegs, cutting garnishes, and clearing away and washing empty glasses
- Aware of potential hazards, which could cause, but are not limited to, slipping, tripping, or falling
- Assist and work in tandem with the bartender(s) on duty
- Arrive for each shift on time and in full uniform
- Attend all pre-shift meetings ready to listen and learn and share ideas
- Avoid leaving work area during peak periods
- Keep a clean and professional appearance at all times
- May take and deliver food orders for customers dining in bar area
- May perform other duties as assigned
- Barbacks are required to work shifts outside, in changing temperatures, as well as on a floating dock that could move
