We are currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated barbacks to join our team. Barbacks are fundamental to the success of our beverage operations, providing essential support to bartenders and ensuring a seamless service flow. This role involves maintaining order and cleanliness within the bar area, replenishing supplies, and aiding in the preparation of drinks during peak periods. Barbacks act as the backbone of our bar service, helping to create a smooth and enjoyable experience for both staff and customers.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced setting and possess a friendly, energetic demeanor. Responsibilities include washing and polishing glassware, stocking juices, beverage coolers, and ice wells, and assisting bartenders by preparing basic cocktails and pouring beers. Barbacks also play an important role in maintaining a clean and safe environment during service by bussing tables, sweeping, mopping, and managing trash disposal. Furthermore, they are expected to have knowledge of the food and beverage menu to assist guests effectively. Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy items such as kegs are essential, as is a team-oriented mindset to work cohesively under pressure.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to lift or change kegs, the weight of which varies between 60-160 pounds
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Prior restaurant or customer service experience preferred
  • Must be a team player and work well with others
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage menu

Job Duties

  • Washing and polishing glass ware
  • Stocking juices, beverage coolers, and ice wells behind the bar
  • Knowledge of food and beverage menu
  • Taking orders for guests and providing information regarding requests and inquiries
  • Changing out kegs, soda cartons, syrups, juices, etc.
  • Assisting bartenders during high-volume by preparing basic cocktails, pouring beers, and aiding other beverage needs
  • Maintaining a clean environment during service
  • Bussing after customers and various workstations
  • Sweeping and mopping
  • Taking trash to the dumpster and breaking down boxes
  • Setting up and closing down bar stations before or after service
