The Barback position at Goode Company is an essential support role within their fast-paced bar team. This job offers part-time employment opportunities with competitive benefits. The Barback plays a critical role behind the scenes, assisting bartenders by stocking supplies, maintaining cleanliness, managing inventory, and ensuring that the bar area is fully prepared for a smooth and efficient service. Duties include restocking condiments, straws, rags, napkins, and beverages; cleaning glassware and bar areas; managing ice supplies; changing kegs; making margarita mix; and cutting garnishes. The position not only demands physical stamina due to lifting and constant movement but also requires adherence to safety, sanitation standards, and TABC certification compliance.

Job Requirements

  • TABC certification required
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in bar or restaurant environment preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, squat, and stand for long periods
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices
  • Positive and team-oriented attitude

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma preferred
  • Previous experience preferred
  • TABC and Food Handler Certification required
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Helpful attitude and friendly demeanor
  • Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
  • Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Stock the bar with all necessities includes condiments, straws, rags and beverage napkins, etc.
  • Maintain full ice binds and bar cleanliness
  • Restock beer and help change kegs
  • Bus glassware and dirty plates on top of and around the bar area
  • Maintain cleanliness inside and outside of the bar, around the bar, and bar stools
  • Wash glassware and restock as needed
  • Help bartender maintain service well
  • Present a professional appearance
  • Run bus tubs back to the kitchen and replace them with new ones
  • Perform any other duties specified by manager and/or your bartender
  • Make margarita mix for margarita machine
  • Cutting fruit and garnishes for drinks
  • Maintain proper stock of juice, liquor, beer, and wine
  • Clears bar area of used dishes, glasses, and silverware and re-sets between customers
  • Maintains work area in a neat and organized manner
  • Follows safety and sanitation rules and practices
