The role of the Barback at The Knickerbocker plays a crucial part in delivering an exceptional guest experience and maintaining seamless bar operations. This hourly position focuses on supporting bartenders by ensuring the bar area remains clean, well-stocked, organized, and efficient. The Barback is responsible for managing inventory needed for beverage service, including liquor, wine, beer, juices, soft drinks, glassware, and condiments. Their duties are essential for maintaining high operational standards and compliance with sanitation and safety policies.
Beyond stocking duties, the Barback develops comprehensive knowledge of beverage products and service etiquette to assist in creating an inviting atmosphere for guests. They ensure that opening and closing responsibilities are fulfilled meticulously while fostering positive guest interactions through attentive and professional behavior. Job Duties
- Request, pick, verify and put away all requisitions for liquor, wine, beer, juices, soft drinks and food items used for the bar areas
- Stock the bar areas with liquor, wine, beer, juices, soft drinks, glassware and condiments
- Develop a complete working knowledge of all products served by the bar
- Ensure that all side opening and closing duties are completed
- Adopt a positive approach in dealing with guests problems and issues to ensure guest satisfaction
- Adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies to ensure compliance with regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area
- Attend to customer needs with a friendly and professional attitude
- Operate and maintain bar equipment and tools
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
