The Bartender position at Lagoon Amusement Park is a vital role responsible for preparing, mixing, and serving alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, cocktails, and speciality drinks specific to the park's private clubs. This role requires profound knowledge of cocktail preparation techniques, standard recipes, and the ability to consistently execute Lagoon-specific specialty cocktails that meet the park's quality and presentation standards. The bartender ensures exceptional guest service by interacting professionally and helpfully with customers, managing beverage orders efficiently, and maintaining compliance with Lagoon's Responsible Alcohol Service plan and state laws. Additionally, the bartender is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary bar environment through routine cleaning and organizing tasks, contributing to an elevated guest experience within Lagoon's premium food and beverage settings.

This position involves operating digital Point of Sale (POS) systems, handling cash and credit card transactions, preparing a variety of food and beverage items, and communicating effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and guests to ensure smooth bar and service operations. Working at Lagoon means embracing a dynamic environment subject to the seasonal operation of the park, with necessary flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, mornings, and late evenings. The role also requires compliance with health and safety regulations, including obtaining a Utah On-Premises Alcohol Seller-Server Training License and a Food Handler's Permit to ensure lawful and safe service delivery. Job Requirements

  • must be at least 21 years of age
  • previous minimum of one year of bartending experience preferred
  • knowledge of standard cocktail recipes and preparation techniques
  • ability to learn and consistently prepare Lagoon-specific specialty cocktails for private club locations
  • must obtain a Utah On-Premises Alcohol Seller-Server Training License
  • must obtain a Food Handler's Permit
  • ability to perform basic math calculations and accurately handle U.S. currency
  • ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • ability to work in close proximity to coworkers, guests, and equipment
  • ability to work with and around all types of food including common allergens and various smells
  • must be able to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • shifts may begin as early as 7:00 AM and end as late as 12:00 AM (midnight)

Job Duties

  • adhere to Lagoon's Responsible Alcohol Service plan while preparing, pouring, and serving alcoholic beverages
  • verify identification and ensure compliance with all applicable alcohol service laws and regulations
  • prepare standard cocktails, mixed drinks, and Lagoon-specific specialty beverages in accordance with recipes and presentation standards
  • maintain consistency, quality, and proper portioning in all beverage preparation
  • interact with guests in a professional and friendly manner by taking orders, answering questions, and providing recommendations
  • operate digital Point of Sale systems, credit card machines, and handle cash transactions, including making accurate change
  • maintain a clean and sanitary bar and work environment by completing daily cleaning and sanitizing tasks before, during, and after operating hours
