The Bar Supervisor role at Santa Ana Star Casino Resort is a vital position that focuses on overseeing the operations of the bar and lounge areas within the casino. This supervisory role is tasked with training new bar staff and ensuring that guest service is of the highest quality, all while controlling operational costs. The Bar Supervisor works closely with the Food and Beverage Manager to handle critical functions such as hiring, scheduling, quality control, ordering, and inventory management. The supervisor ensures that the bars and lounge maintain proper staffing levels for efficient operations. In addition, the role involves compliance with the Casino Control Act and Commission regulations, particularly in the safe service and storage of alcoholic beverages. The Bar Supervisor is a leader who actively promotes the company’s core values by being approachable, respectful, and effectively communicating with team members. They maintain a neat, organized, and safe work environment and are responsible for delivering friendly and prompt service to guests to build meaningful relationships.

This position demands a professional appearance, excellent guest service skills, and the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be capable of managing various operational and administrative tasks such as preparing financial reports, logging staff time, and ensuring adequate product availability for guests. The role also requires a valid New Mexico liquor server’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a Pueblo of Santa Ana Gaming and Regulatory Commission non-gaming license. The Bar Supervisor must be physically capable of performing demanding tasks that often include lifting heavy items and working in different environmental conditions. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • New Mexico liquor server’s license
  • Food Handlers card within 90 days of hire
  • 1-2 years of job-related experience
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills
  • Professional appearance
  • Comply with company dress code
  • Available to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and holidays
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Pueblo of Santa Ana Gaming and Regulatory Commission non-gaming license
  • Preferred Santa Ana Tribal member status
  • Smartphone capable of running company applications

Job Duties

  • Train all new bar staff to ensure consistency and proper training
  • Ensure food and beverage products meet established specifications and standards
  • Maintain proper service levels based on forecasted needs
  • Enforce compliance with Casino Control Act and Commission regulations
  • Communicate variances to Food and Beverage Manager
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Schedule breaks without interrupting guest service
  • Ensure adequate staffing and product availability in bars and warehouse
  • Prepare verbal and written documentation
  • Assign tasks to bartenders, servers, barbacks, and beverage servers
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to build relationships with guests
  • Complete financial reports and accurately log staff time
  • Perform other duties as assigned
