This job opening is for a part-time, non-management position based in Chicago, Illinois, specifically at 2121 S Prairie Ave. The pay range is $22.08 to $26.50 per hour, and the role requires flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. This position involves various duties related to food and beverage service and culinary support within the JW Marriott hotel environment. The role focuses heavily on preparation, cleaning, stocking, and maintaining work areas, bars, and dining setups to ensure high standards of hygiene and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include opening and closing tasks such as organizing provisions and instruments, cleaning equipment and areas, locking up after shifts, and coordinating with supervisors to ensure shift completion. Maintaining cleanliness and good condition of bar furniture and utensils is essential, along with restocking ice, glassware, and paper supplies. The position entails physical activities such as lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and navigating various surfaces and stairs. The role also demands adherence to company safety policies, including reporting maintenance issues and completing relevant safety training. Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance, protect company property and confidential information, and demonstrate teamwork and respect towards colleagues to help meet common goals. Effective communication skills are necessary for guest interaction and telephone etiquette. The ability to perform other reasonable duties as assigned is also required. Job Duties

  • Fulfill opening and closing tasks such as organizing provisions and instruments, cleaning equipment and areas, locking doors
  • Check with captain or supervisor before leaving after shift
  • Organize, stock and maintain work areas
  • Replenish ice, glassware and paper supplies
  • Remove dirty items from bar surfaces and tables
  • Maintain cleanliness and good condition of bar areas, furniture, tables and other instruments
