The role of Host/Hostess at Four Seasons Midtown is pivotal as it represents the first point of guest interaction within the restaurant setting. This position requires a warm and professional individual who can create memorable and seamless dining experiences. Reporting directly to the General Manager of Restaurant and Bar, the Host/Hostess acts as a key team player within the Food & Beverage department, assisting in the smooth flow of restaurant operations. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, luxury hospitality environment and have a passion for delivering high-quality service.

The Host/Hostess is responsible for welcoming guests with warmth and professionalism, effectively managing seating assignments, overseeing reservations, and ensuring that the dining environment meets meticulous cleanliness and presentation standards before service begins. Moreover, a comprehensive understanding of the menu, including ingredients and restaurant details, is essential to support guest inquiries and assist servers. This role not only requires excellent organizational skills but also the ability to communicate effectively with both guests and team members, ensuring a positive dining atmosphere.

With a schedule of forty hours over five days including evening availability, the role demands flexibility to accommodate the dynamic needs of the restaurant. Job Requirements

  • One to two years’ previous experience in Food and Beverage outlet
  • Ability to operate computer equipment and other food and beverage computer systems
  • Strong communication skills

Job Duties

  • Welcome guests and provide exceptional service during their dining experience in collaboration with a team of servers
  • Manage the host stand, review the reservation book and make recommendations as to the setup of the table sections
  • Ensure cleanliness of each section of the dining rooms and make necessary improvements as well as check each table prior to opening to ensure its proper set
  • Develop a complete working knowledge of the menus, menu ingredients and restaurant information
