Job Description

Madeira Ranch is home to Esplanade at Madeira Ranch, a distinguished 55+ resort-style community located in Elk Grove. This premier community is dedicated to enhancing the lifestyle experience of its residents by providing exceptional amenities, social opportunities, and a welcoming environment. At the heart of this vibrant community lies the restaurant and bar, serving as key gathering spaces where neighbors meet, celebrate, and enjoy high-quality food and beverage offerings. The community strives to foster connection, comfort, and enjoyment, making it a sought-after residence for members looking for an inviting and active social setting.

The role of Bar Manager/Lead Bartender at Madeira Ranch is an exceptional opportunity for a hospitality professional who is passionate about delivering superior service in a community-oriented atmosphere. This hybrid position blends leadership responsibilities with hands-on bartending duties, allowing the individual to shape the food and beverage program from its inception and make a meaningful impact on the member experience. Reporting within a supportive team environment, the Bar Manager/Lead Bartender is responsible for overseeing all aspects of alcoholic beverage service, including recipe development, inventory management, cost control, staff training, and operational leadership.

As the primary bartender and shift leader, this position requires not only exceptional bartending skills but also strong operational and interpersonal capabilities. The role includes supporting daily restaurant functions, managing beverage inventory and ordering, maintaining compliance with liquor laws, and assisting with marketing efforts related to beverage features and promotions. The candidate will work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage to develop beverage pricing and program strategies and help train staff in responsible alcohol service and bar protocols.

This position offers the rare benefit of a professional environment with no late nights, weekend shifts, benefits, shift meals, and a platform to grow in a long-term role that values community connection and high service standards. Madeira Ranch is creating a positive, welcoming atmosphere for residents and guests alike, and this role is pivotal in fostering that culture. The Bar Manager/Lead Bartender will play a key role in maintaining beverage quality, ensuring smooth operations both behind the bar and in leadership, and helping build strong relationships within a close-knit community. With a pay range of $23 to $26 per hour, Madeira Ranch welcomes candidates who are dedicated to enriching the member experience while advancing their career in hospitality management.
