With a rich history spanning over 150 years, the club maintains a strong commitment to excellence, community, and tradition while embracing modern hospitality principles. The club offers a variety of amenities, including fine dining, social events, and recreational boating activities, fostering a vibrant community for yacht enthusiasts and their families.

The role of Bar Manager at San Francisco Yacht Club is a full-time, hands-on position that plays a crucial role in delivering a superior beverage program and outstanding member service. The Bar Manager is responsible for ordering, receiving, and inventory management of beverage products, ensuring cost-effective purchasing practices while maintaining premium standards. The position also involves administrative duties such as scheduling bartenders, managing payroll approvals, handling member and staff communications, and ensuring compliance with all workplace policies and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of four years of progressive responsibility in the food and beverage industry, with at least two years in personnel management within a private club or similar upscale environment. Strong knowledge of beverages, especially wine, and certifications such as WSET Level 3 are preferred. The Bar Manager must have a deep commitment to customer service excellence and the ability to respond effectively to member needs and complaints. Exceptional organizational skills, ability to multitask, and proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel are essential for success in this role.

Compensation for the Bar Manager position ranges from $80,000 to $90,000 annually, dependent on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, the San Francisco Yacht Club provides paid time off, paid holidays, comprehensive healthcare benefits, and a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated hospitality professional to lead a key area within a prestigious private club in a beautiful location with a supportive work environment and strong community ties.
