Job Description

Smokey Bones is a renowned full-service restaurant chain specializing in delivering great barbecue, award-winning ribs, and memorable dining experiences across 63 locations in 16 states. Established and respected for its dedication to quality, the restaurant offers a variety of slow-smoked and fire-grilled meats for lunch and dinner, accompanied by an extensive full bar. Guests can enjoy a diverse selection of bourbons and whiskeys, domestic and imported craft beers, and signature handcrafted cocktails. Smokey Bones prides itself on creating a vibrant atmosphere where people come together to celebrate good food, good times, and exceptional service. The company has earned recognition as a Certified Great Place to Work for two consecutive years, underscoring its commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive culture for its employees.

As a Bar Manager at Smokey Bones, you will take on a pivotal leadership role, responsible for guiding your team to deliver exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence within a lively full-service restaurant setting. This position emphasizes coaching and developing teammates, ensuring they understand how their actions affect the overall guest experience and uphold the brand's high standards. The Bar Manager will act as a mentor, providing constructive feedback and motivation, while also addressing guest concerns effectively to maintain customer satisfaction.

Your role will involve overseeing the quality and maintenance of restaurant facilities, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring that every aspect of the venue—from the bar to seating and technology—is maintained to the highest standard. You will serve as a role model for restaurant managers and staff, embodying the values and culture of Smokey Bones and leading by example in operational procedures and service standards. This leadership extends to managing schedules, coaching teammates on performance improvement, and fostering ongoing personal and professional growth among your team members.

Financial acumen is also a key component of the role. You will collaborate closely with the General Manager and Director, establishing plans to meet inventory targets, drive departmental sales growth, and achieve guest satisfaction goals. An understanding of profit and loss statements, forecasting, and budget scheduling will be crucial to effective management. Administrative duties supporting restaurant operations, in compliance with legal regulations, will round out your responsibilities.

Smokey Bones offers a dynamic and flexible work environment where employees are valued and celebrated for their individuality. The company is dedicated to supporting team members with competitive pay, scholarships, employee discounts, and numerous health care options including dental and vision plans. Employees also gain access to life assistance programs, counseling services, and legal plan benefits. Opportunities for career advancement are emphasized, reflecting Smokey Bones' commitment to helping individuals reach their fullest potential in the hospitality industry.

This full-time role demands someone who is passionate about hospitality, results-driven, trustworthy, and team-oriented. Physical stamina is required to stand for up to 10 hours during shifts and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. If you thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and enjoy leading a team to success, the Bar Manager position at Smokey Bones offers an outstanding opportunity to grow your career within a celebrated restaurant brand.
