Bar Manager

This position is with a vibrant cocktail lounge known for its engaging atmosphere and dedication to excellent service. The establishment operates with a compact and dynamic team of fewer than ten staff members, focusing on creating memorable experiences through innovative drink and snack offerings, special event hosting, and active marketing. The cocktail lounge emphasizes creativity, teamwork, and strong organizational skills in its management style, aiming to foster a welcoming and exciting environment for both staff and guests alike.

As the manager of the bar program, you will be entrusted with overseeing all aspects of the bar's operations, including managing shifts and staff schedules, handling inventory and vendor relations, and ensuring meticulous control over labor and controllable expenses. This role also involves direct interaction with guests through bartending shifts, where you will have the opportunity to earn tips in addition to a percentage of sales from special events. You will play a key role in curating the bar's menu, designing and featuring special drinks and snacks that highlight seasonal themes and daily specialties, thus driving customer interest and repeat business.

In addition, the role demands a hands-on approach to marketing and promotion, featuring responsibility for managing the cocktail lounge's social media presence within established guidelines. You'll creatively engage with the audience online while also coordinating with your team and guests to enhance the bar's profile and sales. Organizing and executing events, ranging from private parties to holiday celebrations, will also be within your purview, requiring inventive and budget-savvy planning to create special experiences that attract and retain clientele.

The role is suited for someone with an outgoing personality who thrives in a team environment and possesses strong multitasking capabilities. Although previous experience in bar management or bartending is not mandatory, the ideal candidate is a highly organized individual capable of efficiently managing staff schedules, inventory, sales data through the POS system, and vendor communications to maintain optimal inventory levels and budget adherence. This role is critical for maintaining financial accountability and operational excellence, ensuring that all product deliveries are verified and costs are kept within the established goals.
