Operating 63 locations across 16 states, Smokey Bones has carved a niche in the casual dining sector with a commitment to quality food and exceptional customer service. The hospitality company emphasizes the use of slow-smoked, fire-grilled meats offered through various dining options such as dine-in, pick-up, online ordering, catering, and delivery. Moreover, its full bar features an impressive selection of bourbons, whiskeys, domestic and local craft beers, and handcrafted cocktails, offering guests a complete and satisfying dining experience.
As an employer, Smokey Bones prides itself on fostering a culture where every employee is celebrated for being themselves, contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment. Recognized as a Certified Great Place to Work for two consecutive years, the company offers flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and numerous employee benefits. These benefits include free meals during shifts, meal discounts, exclusive savings on gift cards, comprehensive health care plans, and college scholarships for employees and their immediate family members through partnerships with academic institutions. The restaurant chain also supports its team members with an Employee Life Assistance Program that provides crisis helplines and counseling services, along with access to a broad benefits hub featuring discounts on thousands of products and services. Career growth and development opportunities are integral to their employee value proposition, helping staff reach their fullest potential while they contribute to a dynamic and successful business.
The Bar Manager role at Smokey Bones is designed for a service-oriented leader who thrives in a full-service restaurant setting with a full bar. This position is integral in delivering an excellent guest experience by coaching teammates on guest service techniques, anticipating and resolving issues, and ensuring that the ambiance and operational standards encourage customer satisfaction. The Bar Manager collaborates closely with the General Manager and Directors to maintain the quality and presentation of all restaurant facilities, including overseeing repairs, maintenance, and vendor communication. Leadership responsibilities include modeling company values, training team members on new menu items, writing staff schedules, motivating team performance, and delivering constructive feedback.
Financial acumen is also crucial in this role, as the Bar Manager assists in developing and executing plans that drive departmental sales, control inventory levels, and contribute toward overall profitability. Understanding and managing profit and loss statements, forecasting budgets, and scheduling efficiently are key components of this responsibility. The role demands a hands-on approach with various administrative tasks to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Candidates will find themselves in an environment that values teamwork, integrity, and a passion for hospitality, providing an opportunity to be part of a thriving restaurant group that celebrates diversity, employee engagement, and guest satisfaction.
