Job Description

TGI Fridays is a globally recognized casual dining restaurant chain known for its vibrant atmosphere, signature American cuisine, and a welcoming environment where guests can relax and enjoy quality food and drinks. Established as a leader in the restaurant industry, TGI Fridays has built a reputation for delivering exceptional guest experiences, characterized by friendly service, diverse menus, and an engaging social scene. The brand prides itself on maintaining a fun and lively setting that encourages guests to unwind, socialize, and celebrate life's moments. Located at 6640 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA, the TGI Fridays outlet is a cornerstone of the local dining scene, committed to upholding the brand's standards and delivering memorable experiences to all visitors.

The Bar Manager role at TGI Fridays is pivotal to creating the best corner bar experience in town. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of up to $60,000 annually, reflecting the importance of the role within the restaurant's operational framework. The Bar Manager will oversee all bar operations, ensuring the delivery of fast and accurately prepared mixed beverages while maintaining exceptional levels of hospitality and responsible alcohol service. This role demands strong leadership capabilities to develop and mentor a team of bartenders, fostering a positive work environment that emphasizes high standards of service and professionalism.

Key responsibilities include managing local marketing initiatives that drive guest traffic and increase sales through promotions and community engagement. The Bar Manager will continuously evaluate operational performance, identifying opportunities to enhance sales and control costs effectively. A sharp awareness of competitive bar offerings in the local market is necessary to maintain a competitive edge.

This position requires overseeing bar staff training programs, ensuring all team members complete their training plans and adhere to performance expectations. Providing ongoing feedback, coaching, and performance reviews will be a core part of the job, along with maintaining staff morale and setting a strong example in business conduct. Staffing efficiency is crucial, as the Bar Manager will prepare schedules, ensure appropriate coverage for all shifts, and manage manpower needs.

Daily operational management involves supervising bar activities, supporting staff, engaging with guests to uphold the signature Fridays service style, and maintaining cleanliness and organization behind the bar. The manager will take proactive measures to anticipate guest needs and resolve any service issues promptly.

Financial stewardship is another critical aspect of the role. The Bar Manager is responsible for maintaining beverage quality, optimizing beverage costs, managing inventory accurately, and ensuring proper storage and sanitation practices. Knowledge of bar equipment maintenance and preventive care is essential to support uninterrupted operations.

In the absence of the General Manager, the Bar Manager will act as the Manager on Duty, overseeing restaurant-wide operations and ensuring security protocols protect guests, team members, and company assets. Success in this role will be measured by guest satisfaction scores, operational quality, sales growth, adherence to budgeted beverage and labor costs, and meeting audit standards.

Overall, the Bar Manager at TGI Fridays is a dynamic leadership role that blends operational expertise, people development, marketing acumen, and guest service excellence. It offers a rewarding opportunity to shape the bar's atmosphere, drive business success, and contribute significantly to the restaurant’s reputation as Alexandria's premier casual dining and bar destination.
