Job Description
Ethos Hospitality is a renowned hospitality company recognized for its commitment to excellence, passion for service, and fostering a family-like work environment. They operate in the hospitality sector, managing a portfolio of restaurants and bars dedicated to providing exceptional food and beverage experiences. Ethos Hospitality values its team members, encouraging a culture of relentless drive, focus, passion, humility, and radical candor. This culture fuels both individual and organizational strength and innovation, ensuring every employee feels part of a tight-knit family that respects and supports one another.
At Ethos Hospitality, the bar manager role is pivotal in upholding the company’s high standards of service and operational efficiency. This position is ideal for a committed and proactive individual who thrives in an exciting, fast-paced work environment. The bar manager will lead by example, training and guiding staff to enhance food and beverage sales that meet or surpass the company’s budgeted goals. They play an essential role in promoting excellent service through ongoing training and education of bar employees. The role requires maintaining the bar facility in a secure, safe, clean, and efficient manner, ensuring an inviting atmosphere for guests.
The responsibilities are diverse and focus not only on the operational aspects but also on fostering team cohesion and communication. This includes mixing and serving drinks to guests and waitstaff, accurately recording orders, managing cash and payment procedures efficiently, and maintaining polished glassware and proper stock control. The bar manager must communicate effectively about guest requests, stock levels, and new product offerings to both staff and management. Additionally, the role may involve various ad hoc tasks assigned by management to ensure the smooth running of the establishment.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a restaurant environment, a high school diploma, and the necessary skills to operate point-of-sale systems proficiently. They will possess fundamental math skills and a clear understanding of cash handling procedures. Furthermore, knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to the responsible sale of alcohol is critical, alongside familiarity with different types of beer, spirits, and wine, including their production, origin, and proper serving techniques. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting heavy items, and other activities typical in a bar setting.
Working at Ethos Hospitality means joining a company that lives by its values: love and serve each other and guests, doing what is necessary rather than just doing one's best, prioritizing culture over strategy, and striving to leave the environment better than it was found. These virtues of being loving, disciplined, competitive, loyal, consistent, and persistent shape the work ethic and behavior expected from everyone at Ethos. This is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to belong to a family of dedicated individuals who care deeply about their work and each other.
