Job Description
This position is with a vibrant and customer-focused hospitality establishment, operating as a restaurant bar that prides itself on delivering exceptional dining and drinking experiences. The company is committed to providing high-quality service and products in a welcoming and dynamic environment. As a part of the restaurant industry, it caters to diverse guests who expect professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent customer satisfaction. This role is designed as a full-time managerial position, emphasizing operational oversight, team leadership, and revenue growth within the bar segment of the establishment.
The Bar Manager will be responsible for overseeing all daily bar operations, ensuring consistency in product quality, managing staff effectively, maintaining inventory control, and complying strictly with alcohol regulations. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a positive atmosphere for guests and employees alike, addressing customer concerns promptly, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety standards of the bar area. Duties also include employee training, scheduling, and mentorship, creating a motivated and competent team ready to deliver superior service. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to analyze sales data to meet business objectives while controlling costs through waste reduction and efficient labor management. Additionally, the Bar Manager will collaborate closely with vendors to secure timely and cost-effective supplies, supporting smooth daily operations.
The ideal candidate will bring more than three years of restaurant experience, including supervisory roles both in front-of-house and back-of-house settings. Educational requirements include a high school diploma or GED, along with valid food handler and alcohol dispensing certifications. Knowledge of ServSafe Alcohol, Food, OSHA, and HACCP standards is essential, as well as the ability to discuss beer, wine, and spirits knowledgeably. Physical demands of the job include standing or walking for extended periods, interacting extensively with other team members, and handling substantial physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds. These physical requirements underscore the need for a hands-on manager who leads by example.
The Bar Manager will also support company policies and uphold a positive brand image, ensuring an excellent guest experience while contributing to a healthy work environment. The position includes responsibilities related to cash handling, safety and security compliance, and maintaining communication channels with the General Manager for facility maintenance needs. This multifaceted role is crucial for maintaining high standards of operation, boosting guest retention, driving sales, and continuously improving the bar's image and guest satisfaction. Prospective candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced, pressure-driven environment where quality and precision remain paramount.
