The Bar Manager at Porchlight plays a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards of its beverage operations and guest experience. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing all facets of the bar, including service quality, beverage menu development, team staffing and training, bar maintenance, and administrative duties like inventory management, recipe costing, and employee scheduling. The role requires a leader capable of inspiring and directing the bar and service teams to create exceptional, welcoming moments for guests while achieving financial performance goals.
Key responsibilities include delivering an enduring culture of Enlightened Hospitality, actively participating in service cycles, and ensuring that the cocktail, liquor, beer, and non-alcoholic beverage programs are engaging, brand-consistent, and value-driven. The Bar Manager must also control beverage expenses within budget, grow the bar’s sales and profitability, implement efficient operational systems, upkeep inventory accuracy, and maintain compliance with health and safety standards. They provide ongoing education and training to ensure the team has thorough knowledge and skills related to all beverage offerings, while fostering positive communication and relationships across the entire hospitality team.

Job Requirements
- Three plus years experience behind the bar in a similar environment
- Management experience strongly preferred
- Excellent food and beverage knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Preferred bachelor’s degree or certification in hospitality-related field or equivalent expertise gained from time on the job
- English fluency required, Spanish preferred

Job Duties
- Consistently deliver a culture of enlightened hospitality to guests and team members
- Actively participate in the cycle of service as a manager on the restaurant floor, providing support to all service staff as needed
- Maintain a compelling and brand-aligned cocktail, liquor, beer, and non-alcoholic program that drives both value and engagement with guests
- Ensure all beverage-related expenses are performing at or below budget
- Grow and maintain a thriving bar business and beverage program that meets and exceeds sales targets
- Ensure proper systems and procedures are in place and consistently enforced to increase efficiency, productivity, and profitability of the bar program
- Perform monthly inventory of all beverage products on site, ensuring accurate accounting of all products used
