Job Description
Hyatt is a globally recognized hospitality company known for its commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences through attentive and caring associates. With a reputation built on quality service and luxurious accommodations, Hyatt properties attract guests who value both comfort and memorable moments. One such property, Mission Pacific Beach Resort, located right on the Oceanside waterfront, showcases Hyatt's dedication to delivering an elevated hospitality experience in a vibrant, picturesque environment. The resort’s signature all-day dining outlet, The Cafe, is a standout venue that balances the charm of a neighborhood cafe with the sophistication expected from a Hyatt property. This setting serves seriously crafted food, artisan coffee, and a comprehensive bar program from sunrise to sunset, making it a local favorite and a key feature of the guest experience at Mission Pacific Beach Resort.
The Bar-ista role at The Cafe is an engaging and dynamic position that demands versatility and a passion for craft coffee and beverages. Far from being a one-dimensional job, this role is integral to the hotel's guest interaction and hospitality experience. The Bar-ista serves as the first point of contact for many hotel guests, acting as the welcoming face of The Cafe and an ambassador of Hyatt’s hospitality values. Responsibilities include managing the entire beverage program — from espresso coffee preparation to full cocktail service — ensuring every drink meets the high standards synonymous with Hyatt. This role requires handling everything from greeting guests, taking orders, and applying benefits through the Hyatt Globalist and AMEX systems to processing payments and maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of coffee and bar stations.
This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy work environment and who take pride in their craft. It offers the opportunity to engage with guests in a meaningful way while delivering a consistently exceptional beverage experience. The role is part-time and seasonal, expected to last until around Labor Day 2026, and offers competitive hourly pay of $18.00. In addition to the monetary compensation, the Bar-ista position includes a range of perks such as unlimited discounted room rates for colleagues and friends at Hyatt hotels worldwide, complimentary meals, participation in a front-of-house tip pool, and the chance to be part of a dedicated team that values hospitality and mutual support.
Those joining The Cafe team at Hyatt’s Mission Pacific Beach Resort benefit from working in one of the most visible and celebrated hotel properties in Oceanside, experiencing a lively environment where each team member plays a vital role in delivering remarkable services. This role offers not only a job but an opportunity to grow professionally in the hospitality industry within a brand known for excellence. The position also emphasizes teamwork, flexibility, and a genuine passion for coffee and beverage craft. If you are someone who enjoys delivering high-quality coffee and cocktail experiences while fostering warm connections with guests, this role offers a rewarding pathway to do just that within one of Hyatt's premiere locations.
