The role of Bar Support Staff involves assisting bartenders by preparing bars for service, maintaining cleanliness of the guest areas and equipment, and managing inventory effectively before, during, and after shifts. Candidates will be responsible for keeping bars organized, replenishing essential supplies like glass washer chemicals and hand soap, and ensuring the proper handling and storage of all bar products. Additionally, this position includes engaging with guests courteously by promoting menu items and hotel services, contributing positively to the overall atmosphere. The job requires attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions while working independently or collaboratively.

This is a physically attentive role, requiring constant standing, walking, and other movements to maintain the bar’s functionality. The ideal candidate must be at least 21 years of age and hold or be willing to obtain an Alcohol Awareness Card to comply with legal and company standards related to responsible alcohol service. The job requires flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, matching the operational hours of the hospitality venue. Prior experience or education related to bar service is preferred, although comprehensive training and guidance will be provided to the right candidate. Job Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain appropriate licensing with the Alcohol Awareness Card
  • Previous bar service experience or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Ability to constantly stand, walk, reach overhead, bend, crouch, kneel, and balance during shift
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift or carry 25lbs or less
  • Must have repetitive use of both hands with firm grasping and finger dexterity
  • Must have constant use of vision including distance, depth perception, field of vision and color vision
  • Must be able to communicate in English, both written and oral
  • Flexible to work all shifts including nights, holidays and weekends
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Job Qualifications

  • Previous bar service experience preferred
  • Knowledge of serving alcohol with care and menu products
  • Ability to operate glassware washing machine and refill ice and beer bins
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both written and oral
  • Skills in simple reading, math, writing, and task completion
  • Clerical, compiling, coordination, analyzing, precision working, following instructions, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making skills
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Job Duties

  • Assist bartenders and cocktail staff in performance of their duties
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of bar on a daily basis including before, during and after shift
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of guest areas and equipment at all times during shift including removing empty glasses/bottles, cleaning ashtrays, picking up and dumping garbage, sweeping and mopping floors, and sanitizing equipment
  • Recite and promote the variety of menu items and hotel services
  • Greet guests in a courteous, friendly manner and conveying hotel activities to guests
  • Maintain and organize bars and storerooms including refrigerated units
  • Refill chemicals such as hand soap or glass washer chemicals
  • Maintain proper inventory of product
  • Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position
