Job Description
The h.wood Group is a premier Los Angeles-based lifestyle and hospitality company distinguished by its exceptional establishments and events located across the United States and Europe. Renowned for creating some of the world’s best restaurants, nightlife, and event experiences, the company thrives on a foundation built with integrity and a commitment to a warm, inviting, and uniquely lavish atmosphere for a broad and diverse clientele. With an unwavering focus on quality and innovation, the h.wood Group continuously elevates hospitality standards and delivers unforgettable experiences through its carefully curated venues.
One of the crown jewels within the h.wood Group’s portfolio is an intimate, cocktail-driven speakeasy located behind a discreet entrance on the prestigious RIVANI building's third floor. This venue is a beacon of mixology excellence, delivering a cinematic sense of theater that complements the art of cocktail creation. Centered around Tokyo’s precise bartending technique known as Ginza style, this bar offers an elevated and refined drink experience paired with Japanese-inspired light bites crafted for sharing. The venue itself exudes an ambiance of warmth, enhanced by soft lighting, layered textures, and curated vinyl, creating an environment that effortlessly transitions from early evening intimate conversations to late-night vibrant energy.
We are currently seeking an experienced and visionary Bar General Manager to join our team and lead the daily operations of this exclusive, bar-centric speakeasy. This full-time, exempt leadership role is designed for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and high-end hospitality environment, someone passionate about bar-driven concepts and dedicated to achieving operational excellence. The Bar General Manager will hold the crucial responsibility of steering the management and bar teams to deliver extraordinary beverage execution and cultivate an atmosphere that consistently delights guests.
This role demands a forward-thinking and hands-on leader who can manage financial performance metrics, including labor costs and beverage cost of goods sold (COGS), while enhancing profitability and guest satisfaction. The Bar General Manager will work closely with corporate departments, including operations, human resources, and finance, to develop strategic initiatives that uphold the brand’s reputation for quality and service. A key aspect of this leadership position involves fostering a strong, service-oriented culture marked by accountability, development, and high team morale. The successful candidate will act as the venue’s ambassador, ensuring that every guest and employee interaction reflects professionalism and the highest service standards.
In addition to overseeing scheduling, labor management, and compliance with health and safety regulations, the Bar General Manager will be a visible presence during peak service hours, supporting the team’s execution in high-impact events and everyday operations. This role entails not only an operational leadership capacity but also an essential mentorship function, providing consistent guidance and performance management for Assistant General Managers, Floor Managers, and other department leaders. The ultimate goal is to maintain an environment where creativity in mixology and exceptional guest experiences flourish, aligned with the prestigious legacy of the h.wood Group and its innovative bar concept.
