The Bar Crew role at Oak View Group is an essential part of the live event experience, capturing the vibrant energy of OVG’s world-class venues. This position is designed for personable and professional individuals who thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing environments, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service. As a Bar Crew member, individuals will be responsible for serving a full range of beverages—both alcoholic and non-alcoholic—to guests, requiring adherence to strict state and federal regulations. The role demands attention to detail, knowledge of diverse drink varieties, and the ability to provide suggestive upselling in an engaging and responsible manner. Bar Crew members are also tasked with ensuring a clean and sanitary workstation, handling cash accurately, and assisting with bar setup and breakdown tasks. This hourly position pays $8.50 and is tip-eligible, offering part-time employees access to a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. Availability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and long hours, is crucial, reflecting the dynamic nature of live event operations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • six months or more experience bartending
  • knowledge of state and federal alcohol serving laws
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • reliable attendance and punctuality

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards
  • follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described
  • serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures and state/federal regulations
  • learn and suggest various beer, wine varieties, and spirits to guests
  • pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size
  • check guest IDs to verify age compliance
  • communicate cut-offs to guests as required
  • listen and respond to customer requests and concerns
  • de-escalate intoxicated guest situations and contact management or security if necessary
  • contact management when decisions exceed standard scope
  • request and restock products as needed
  • handle cash accurately and issue a bank at the bar
  • maintain a clean and sanitary workstation and ensure bar equipment is well maintained
  • perform set-up and breakdown of bar equipment and assist with cooler organization
