Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, established in 2015. The company boasts a comprehensive platform that covers venue development, venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. OVG's impressive portfolio includes ownership of seven world-class venues and a client base encompassing the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. This expansive reach highlights the company's commitment to delivering exceptional live entertainment experiences worldwide. OVG is recognized for its innovative approach to sports and live entertainment, continually pushing the boundaries to enhance the industry.
The role of Bar Crew at Oak View Group is integral to providing outstanding guest services at their venues. Bar Crew members are responsible for the preparation and service of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, requiring them to be personable and professional while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This position operates on an hourly wage of $8.50 and is tip-eligible, providing ample opportunity to supplement income during events. It is a part-time role that includes benefits such as a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions, ensuring that employees can plan for their futures while enjoying flexible work hours.
Bar Crew members must demonstrate excellent attendance and be available to work scheduled events to meet the business's needs. The role emphasizes adherence to company standards of excellence in guest service, interaction with colleagues, and maintaining uniform standards. Bar Crew staff follow specific bar pre-shift notes and menu directions, ensuring consistency and quality in service delivery. The role requires a thorough knowledge of various beer, wine, and spirits, enabling staff to suggestively upsell products to guests while maintaining responsible serving sizes.
Serving alcoholic beverages responsibly is a core responsibility, including compliance with all state and federal regulations. Bar Crew members must check identification to verify age according to legal requirements and manage guest interactions professionally, including the ability to communicate service cut-offs or handle intoxicated guests diplomatically. When situations escalate, staff are trained to involve management or security appropriately to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
Additional duties include restocking bar products as needed, accurately handling cash transactions, issuing and managing bar banks, and maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace. Staff members are also responsible for equipment setup and breakdown and helping organize storage areas like coolers. The role demands self-direction, teamwork, and effective communication skills to thrive in a vibrant entertainment setting where priorities can shift rapidly.
Oak View Group fosters an inclusive and diverse workplace, understanding that diversity drives innovation, strengthens their staff, improves services, and raises standards of excellence. OVG is committed to equal employment opportunities and does not discriminate based on any legally protected status, creating a welcoming environment where all voices are valued and celebrated. This commitment ensures that employees can grow professionally in a culture that supports respect and equity.
