The restaurant not only focuses on the quality of its dishes but also places a strong emphasis on sustainability, community support, and the continual growth and development of its team members.
The role of Bar Cook at Tierra Sur is vital in supporting the restaurant's overall mission. As a Bar Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and executing bar menu items with a consistent focus on quality and detail. This position directly supports the Wine Tasting Room service by producing high-quality small plates that meet the esteemed standards of the kitchen. The Bar Cook ensures that every dish leaving the bar section upholds the exceptional reputation of Tierra Sur.
Working Sunday through Thursday from 11am to 7:30pm, with opportunities for overtime, this role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $24.00 to $25.00. Compensation is determined by factors such as educational background and previous experience, reflecting the value Tierra Sur places on skilled culinary professionals.
In this role, you will be expected to maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation, monitor food quality, freshness, and portion control, and assist with daily prep work, such as cutting, portioning, and organizing ingredients. Adherence to proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures is essential to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations. Furthermore, effective communication with both kitchen and front-of-house staff is critical for smooth and timely service delivery.
The Bar Cook position also involves responsibilities such as inventory control and notifying management of any shortages or waste, supporting the kitchen’s operational efficiency. This role requires a strong emphasis on following company policies, health regulations, and safety standards, which are all integral to maintaining Tierra Sur’s exemplary dining environment.
This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced culinary environment and have a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences.
