Job Description
This hospitality establishment is a reputable restaurant and bar known for its commitment to excellent customer service and a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The role available is that of a Bar Attendant who works under the general direction of the Restaurant Services Supervisor and closely assists the Bartender and wait staff. This position requires a courteous and professional approach to customer interaction as well as efficient preparation and maintenance of the bar area. The Bar Attendant plays a crucial part in maintaining the bar’s operational flow, ensuring all supplies such as beer, liquor, wine, glassware, and juices are well stocked and correctly rotated. Additionally, this role includes tasks such as preparing garnishes, filling ice wells, cleaning and setting up the bar, and handling waste management.
Beyond operational duties, the Bar Attendant helps promote positive customer relations by greeting guests, answering questions proficiently, and creating a friendly atmosphere conducive to guest satisfaction. They also support the bartender in inventory management and assist in preparing and serving drinks precisely as ordered, making sure to minimize waste. The role demands strict adherence to alcohol safety policies and customer service guidelines, ensuring every beverage dispensed complies with local and state alcohol beverage laws.
The ideal candidate will have at least six months of guest service experience with preferred background in food and beverage service. They must possess a high school diploma or GED, or have waiver approval from Human Resources Management. Responsible Beverage Service certification is required and the candidate must be able to pass background checks, drug and alcohol screenings, and secure a gaming license if applicable. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and as a team member are essential.
Physical demands of the job include standing for extended periods, walking, sitting, and frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds. The candidate should also be comfortable working in environments with variable temperatures, noise levels, and occasional exposure to secondhand smoke. The role may involve shift work including evenings, holidays, and weekends. Job Duties
