The Barback position at Aramark involves crucial support responsibilities within the bar environment, ensuring smooth operations that enhance guest experiences. The role requires managing inventory, transporting and stocking products, and maintaining cleanliness and order behind the bar. Barbacks assist bartenders and other staff by performing opening and closing duties, such as restocking garnishes, straws, napkins, and ensuring bartenders have necessary clean towels, glassware, and supplies. They also deliver products, maintain inventory integrity using transfer sheets, and participate in cleaning and sanitizing workstations and guest service areas.

Barbacks are responsible for ensuring the bar remains well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer, and that taps and appliances function properly by checking equipment and changing out kegs as required. Keeping the bar area clean involves wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles. The position demands a positive attitude and excellent guest service skills, fostering great relationships with guests, customers, clients, and co-workers.

Adherence to Aramark's safety policies, including food safety and sanitation standards, is a vital component of the role. Barbacks must also ensure the security of company assets and comply with any specific local client requirements or business needs, which may influence some duties. This role requires flexibility since duties might evolve to meet changing operational demands.
