Job Description

Pueblo of Sandia is a multifaceted establishment located in New Mexico, renowned for its comprehensive offerings that include bars, restaurants, and a vibrant casino floor. As a key player in the hospitality and entertainment industry, Pueblo of Sandia emphasizes integrity, fairness, collaboration, communication, and recognition of performance excellence. With a commitment to attracting and retaining a qualified workforce, the Pueblo fosters an environment where opportunities for career growth and development abound, contributing to ongoing success now and into the future. This establishment is dedicated not only to providing exceptional service but also to maintaining a high standard of operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, making it a preferred destination for guests seeking an exceptional entertainment experience.

The role of Barback at Pueblo of Sandia is essential to supporting the efficient operations of multiple bars, casino floor drink stations, and restaurants within the establishment. This position primarily assists bartenders and beverage servers in delivering an exceptional guest experience by maintaining cleanliness, restocking supplies, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include supplying bar and casino areas with necessary items upon request and managing inventory using proper handling and safety procedures. The position demands attention to detail, as the barback performs tasks such as cleaning bar equipment, replenishing supplies, stocking refrigeration units according to FIFO (first-in, first-out) logistics, and assisting with drink garnishing.

Additionally, the barback plays a crucial role in upholding responsible alcohol service policies by verifying patrons' identification and refusing service to those who are impaired. Other duties involve maintaining tables, attending pre-shift meetings to stay updated on daily specials and promotions, monitoring temperature logs, and ensuring the cleanliness of bars and casino floor registers. The work environment requires the ability to lift up to 150 pounds, operate safely on various surfaces, and manage tasks that may involve physical exertion, including pushing, pulling, reaching, and standing for extended periods.

This full-time, dynamic role suits individuals who thrive in fast-paced settings and who are eager to contribute to high-quality guest service. Successful candidates can look forward to a clear career progression path within the Pueblo of Sandia organization, moving from barback to bartender, supervisor, and eventually manager. The ideal candidate will not only have an aptitude for maintaining smooth bar operations but will also demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and sanitation standards as mandated by Indian Health Services and local regulations. Overall, this opportunity offers a challenging yet rewarding position within a reputable and respected hospitality establishment.
