The Barback position at Aramark is a vital role within the beverage service team, designed to support bartenders and ensure smooth operations behind the bar. This hourly position, offering a wage of $10.10 per hour, involves a range of tasks focused on maintaining bar inventory, cleanliness, and overall functionality of the bar area. The Barback assists with opening and closing duties such as restocking garnishes, napkins, and straws, as well as ensuring bartenders have the clean towels and glassware necessary for an efficient service experience. The role demands attention to detail in delivering products, maintaining stock integrity with transfer sheets, and ensuring the bar area and guest service zones meet health and safety standards.

This position plays a critical role in guaranteeing that the bar is continually stocked with essential items including ice, liquor, wine, and beer, as well as checking and maintaining equipment such as taps and kegs to ensure proper functionality. The Barback is also responsible for housekeeping duties in the bar area, such as cleaning surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers, and emptying trash receptacles. Maintaining a positive demeanor and excellent guest service skills are key aspects of the job, as this individual directly contributes to the customer’s overall experience.

Aramark understands that working as a Barback can be physically demanding and requires standing or walking for extended periods, along with duties that may include lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling. Therefore, appropriate uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required. Job Duties

  • Assists with opening and closing duties, such as restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, and napkins, ensuring that bartenders have clean towels, glassware, etc.
  • Delivers product and uses transfer sheets to maintain inventory integrity
  • Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains appearance of workstations and guest service areas
  • Ensures bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer
  • Checks taps and appliances to ensure that they are working properly and changing out kegs
  • Keeps the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles
  • Maintains excellent guest service and a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets
