This role is for a Barback, an essential team member within Aramark's events and hospitality services. As a Barback, you will provide critical support to bartenders and other staff by managing inventory, stocking products, and maintaining cleanliness and order at the bar. You will be involved in opening and closing procedures, including restocking garnishes, napkins, straws, ice, and beverages like liquor, wine, and beer. Your responsibilities also include helping monitor equipment functionality, such as taps and coolers, and assisting in the reordering process to ensure smooth operations and a well-stocked bar for events. This position primarily takes place in an event-based setting, where work hours and schedules will vary according to the needs of particular gatherings. Typically, you can expect to work three to four events per year, providing flexibility and the ability to submit your availability for scheduling consideration.
This is a union position under the Unite Here 11 agreement, with wages starting at 80% of the negotiated rate and increasing progressively as you gain experience with 20 and 40 shifts worked. The starting wage begins at $16.90 per hour, reflecting the hosted rate, with a higher rate available for non-hosted bars. Physical demands are part of the job, including constant standing, walking, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling. The company ensures adherence to safety policies, proper food handling, sanitation standards, and personal protective equipment usage as applicable.
Working as a Barback at Aramark provides an opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and develop excellent customer service skills while supporting seamless event operations.
