Job Description

Our establishment is a vibrant and well-loved taproom that prides itself on delivering exceptional craft beer experiences to our patrons. We are a community-focused venue that values quality, sustainability, and learning. As a bar-back, you will be an essential part of the behind-the-scenes team, providing critical support to our bartenders and ensuring smooth, efficient service during busy periods. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about the craft beer industry who want to immerse themselves in the hustle and bustle of a dynamic drinking environment, with ample opportunities for professional growth and development. Many of our bartenders started their journey as bar-backs, learning the ropes and gradually advancing to more prominent positions within our team.

In your role as bar-back, you will be responsible for maintaining well-stocked and organized bar areas, assisting bartenders by performing a variety of essential tasks that keep operations running smoothly. Your day-to-day duties will include managing inventory by updating clipboards, handling kegs, washing glasses, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment by sweeping and mopping the taproom floors. Security is also a key part of your responsibilities, as you will ensure all doors are locked and secured at closing time. Attention to detail is critical, especially when logging the temperatures of various equipment to maintain safety and quality standards. You will also have the opportunity to engage with customers, providing friendly interactions that help create a warm and inviting atmosphere. This role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift over 50 pounds, and a strong desire to learn about craft beer production and the broader beverage industry. Working as a bar-back is not only a chance to support your team but also a stepping stone into the exciting world of bartending, with the potential for career advancement within our establishment.
