The Bar Back position at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club is a vital role within the Downtown Food & Beverage team. This full-time role is perfect for an energetic, reliable, and detail-oriented individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and desires a stable position with competitive pay. The Bar Back will serve as the essential support system for the bartenders, ensuring the bar operates seamlessly and efficiently. Responsibilities include maintaining a well-stocked bar, assisting with inventory management, and helping uphold cleanliness and safety standards behind the bar. This role requires strong initiative and teamwork, as well as physical stamina to manage the demands of moving heavy items and standing for long periods during busy service hours. Throughout the shift, the Bar Back will perform tasks such as bussing glassware, wiping down counters, preparing garnishes, and replenishing supplies to maintain the high standard of service the Yacht Club is known for. Job Duties
- support operations by keeping the bar stocked with liquor, beer, wine, ice, glassware, and garnishes
- monitor inventory levels during service, change kegs, and restock coolers and shelves proactively
- maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment behind the bar
- buss glassware, wipe down counters, and remove trash and recycling throughout the shift
- prepare garnishes such as cutting fruit and ensure all juices and mixers are fresh and ready for service
- assist with opening and closing duties
- support the service team on the floor when necessary to ensure member satisfaction
