This role is a part-time, non-management Food and Beverage service position at the JW Marriott in Irvine, CA, offering an hourly wage of $16.90. As a team member in this role, you will be instrumental in orchestrating smooth food and beverage service for events, ensuring guests receive personalized and attentive service in a professional atmosphere. Your duties include preparing coffee breaks, setting up service stations, managing buffet and action stations, and collaborating closely with the culinary team to fulfill special food requirements. This position demands a keen attention to detail, strong teamwork, and a positive, outgoing personality. Given the hands-on nature of this role, physical capability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds is required, along with standing or walking for extended periods.

Job Qualifications

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • less than one year of related work experience
  • experience in banquet service considered a strong advantage

  • good conversational skills and team orientation

Job Duties

  • Prepare coffee breaks and stock carts and stations with necessary items
  • organize tables, action stations, buffets, and service carts
  • communicate special requests or additional food requirements to the kitchen
  • ensure timely clearing of plates and crumbs
  • manage the presentation of dishware to allow guest access
  • supervise the cleaning and proper sanitization of tables, stations, and service areas
