The Assistant Banquets Manager role is an exciting leadership opportunity within the Banquets & Event Services team at both Hyatt Regency Seattle and Hyatt at Olive 8. This position is integral to the smooth execution and management of banquet and meeting functions, ensuring each event exceeds guest expectations. The Assistant Banquets Manager collaborates closely with multiple departments including convention services, culinary teams, event planning, stewarding, and sales to coordinate staffing, equipment, and event logistics. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food and beverage leadership preferred
- Strong understanding of banquet and event service operations
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Physical ability to perform duties involving lifting and standing for extended periods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in computer applications related to event management
- Valid Food Handler's and MAST cards
- Ability to lead, motivate, and coach a diverse team
- Commitment to high standards of quality service and compliance with health regulations

Job Duties
- Support and manage the Event Services department while collaborating closely with hotel leadership and multiple departments
- Supervise, empower, lead, coach, and motivate teams including captains and banquet servers to achieve exceptional guest service and colleague engagement
- Review Banquet Event Orders to ensure thorough communication and understanding with guests and departments
- Support staffing and equipment needs assessment for events
- Coordinate and execute all events in partnership with Culinary, Stewarding, Event Planning, Sales, and Event Setup teams
- Maintain a high-energy, positive, and professional appearance at all times
- Develop innovative and creative décor for banquet function spaces
- Support short and long-term banquet functions in both front and back of house
- Uphold quality service standards through effective hiring, training, development, and continuous reinforcement
- Facilitate administrative tasks including payroll, reports, forecasts, point of sale procedures, inventory, and budget management for food and beverage functions
- Perform daily walkthroughs to ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards
- Develop ideas for special and holiday events
