Located in Boston, Massachusetts, the Renaissance Hotel is seeking a dynamic and experienced Banquets Manager to lead Food and Beverage operations at its hotel outlets. This full-time management position offers an annual salary range of $68,000 to $83,000, with eligibility for bonuses. The Banquets Manager will play a pivotal role in supervising daily food and beverage shift operations, ensuring compliance with all established policies, standards, and procedures. This role demands a balance of leadership and hands-on management, with responsibilities that include overseeing the quality of service to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the operating budget and ensuring that all operational and legal standards are upheld. Planning and goal-setting are critical components of this position, requiring the development of specific objectives and strategies to prioritize, organize, and effectively accomplish daily work demands. Additionally, the Banquets Manager must foster a positive and productive work environment by encouraging cooperation, trust, and respect among team members.
Customer service is at the heart of this role, with the manager expected to deliver exceptional service that goes above and beyond to ensure guest satisfaction and retention. They will provide guidance and individualized coaching to staff, acting as a role model and maintaining a proactive approach in addressing guest concerns. Communication and collaboration skills are essential, as the manager will coordinate with supervisors and employees to ensure a seamless operation, including managing inventory, overseeing cleaning programs, and supporting the professional development of team members.
Other key responsibilities include analyzing information to solve problems effectively, performing job functions as needed, and upholding professionalism and courtesy within the team. Understanding financial reports such as budgets, operating statements, and payroll is also necessary to manage the department's resources effectively.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- four years experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
- or two-year degree from an accredited university in food service management, hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
- two years experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
- ability to work full time
- availability to work at 606 Congress St, Boston, Massachusetts

Job Duties
- Assists in the ordering of food and beverage supplies, cleaning supplies and uniforms
- supervises daily food and beverage shift operation and monitors compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards and procedures
- supports and supervises an effective monthly self inspection program
- operates all department equipment as necessary and reports malfunction
- supervises staffing levels to verify that guest service, operational needs, and financial objective are met
- encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
- develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work
