This particular role is a full-time, non-management position situated at the JW Marriott property located at 775 12th St NW, Washington, District of Columbia. The position belongs to the Food and Beverage & Culinary category and offers an hourly wage ranging from $22.69, with incremental pay increases after six months ($25.47/hour) and one year ($30.25/hour). Adherence to company safety and security policies is mandatory, including reporting any unsafe conditions or accidents, completing mandatory safety training, and maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in personal appearance and conduct. Communication skills are crucial, as employees welcome and address guests in a courteous and professional manner, using clear language and displaying genuine appreciation.
Physical stamina and dexterity are necessary for success in this role as it involves standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and carrying objects that may weigh up to 50 pounds independently or more with assistance. The work environment includes various surfaces such as ramps and stairs, requiring flexibility in movement and the ability to bend, twist, and stoop. Employees must also be capable of visual verification of information across multiple formats, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail throughout their duties.
Position holders do not require prior related work experience or supervisory experience, making it accessible to candidates with a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Job Duties
- Complete final breakdown of function by cleaning the room and returning equipment to proper location
- Complete closing duties including storing reusable goods, locking doors, and breaking down goods
- Set up, stock, and maintain work areas
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned stations and service areas
- Transport dirty linen to appropriate cleaning areas and restock linen shelves with clean linens
- Practice clean-as-you-go procedures throughout the day
- Assist other departments to ensure optimum guest service
