Job Requirements
- must obtain and maintain all licenses and certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Commission
- must successfully pass background check
- must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- culinary apprenticeship, an Associate’s Degree from a culinary institution or an equivalent with some industry experience is preferred
- basic food preparation knowledge and line work experience
- ability to be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules
- effective communication skills with all levels of employees and guests
- ability to use equipment such as choppers, slicers, mixers and grinders
Job Duties
- create an atmosphere that induces guests to choose Hard Rock Casino Rockford for gaming entertainment
- prepare foods that are to be grilled, fried, broiled, baked, boiled, braised, poached or prepared in the pantry
- ensure that all plates or pans served are aesthetically appealing and cooked to customer and chef specifications
- recognize and properly place a variety of sauces on all entrees featured on daily menus
- keep workstation neat and clean
- assist co-workers to ensure efficient operation of the kitchen
- perform duties for special events or parties including carving, cooking, setup and teardown of stations or work areas
- ensure cleanliness of working area and report all equipment safety failures, hazardous areas and accidents
- ensure proper storing of foods including those from previous functions
- ensure items are fully stocked and equipment is in good working condition
- ensure proper closing down of workstations
- attend and participate in meetings and complete follow-up as assigned
- perform work regularly and predictably
- clean and sanitize work and public spaces
- perform other duties as assigned
