This part-time Bartender position is based in the Chicago Southland area within the Banquets Department, offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing outstanding service to guests. The role focuses on mixing and serving a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring that every guest receives high-quality drinks with a welcoming experience. This position requires a comprehensive knowledge of menu items, including liquor brands, cocktail recipes, beer selections, and non-alcoholic drinks, and the ability to maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area.

Bartenders at Wind Creek Hospitality engage actively with guests, using suggestive selling and up-selling techniques to enhance the guest experience while ensuring compliance with all safety and sanitation regulations. The starting pay ranges from $9.00 to $13.15 per hour, with wages based on experience, qualifications, and skill level. A valid Tribal Gaming License or the ability to obtain one is also required. The position demands physical capability including lifting and maneuvering up to 50 pounds and willingness to work in environments with smoke or secondary smoke. Team members should be ready to participate in ongoing training and occasional travel.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six months from start date as a condition of continued employment
  • Must be twenty-one years of age or older
  • One year related experience and/or training
  • OR six months experience within the Beverage Department at Wind Creek Hospitality
  • Willingness and ability to lift and maneuver a minimum of fifty pounds
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition
  • Must successfully complete Responsible Vendor Alcoholic Beverage Service, and TIPS training
  • Must successfully complete ServeSafe Sanitation training
  • Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Must have a Tribal Gaming License or the ability to obtain and maintain a license
  • Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke or secondary smoke environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • OR six months experience within the Beverage Department at Wind Creek Hospitality
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
  • Must successfully complete Responsible Vendor Alcoholic Beverage Service, and TIPS training
  • Must successfully complete ServeSafe Sanitation training
  • Must have a Tribal Gaming License or the ability to obtain and maintain a license

Job Duties

  • Takes orders from guests and servers
  • Maintains complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, specials and mixes ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks
  • Maintains a complete awareness of cocktail and drink recipes and production methods
  • Maintains a complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnish for each drink
  • Maintains knowledgeable of different types of alcoholic beverages and their methods of production
  • Inspects cleanliness and condition of assigned stations and associated public space and rectifies any deficiencies
  • Greets guests and takes orders utilizing suggestive selling and up-selling techniques
