The position available is a part-time Food and Beverage server role located at The Westin in Honolulu, Hawaii. This non-management role offers an hourly pay range of $16.00 to $17.81, with eligible tipping included. The Food and Beverage server is responsible for delivering outstanding service by serving food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests, answering menu questions, and ensuring all dietary needs and special requests are communicated effectively to the kitchen. Attention to detail is critical, as this role involves maintaining cleanliness in work areas, monitoring the presentation and sanitation of all tableware, and managing the assigned tables to provide flawless dining experiences.

In addition to direct guest service, this role supports management through various operational tasks including assistance with hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching fellow employees. The role demands adherence to company and safety policies, with responsibilities to report unsafe conditions and participate in safety certifications. Job Duties

  • Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests
  • answer questions on menu selections
  • communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, length of wait, recook orders, and product availability
  • maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day
  • communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
  • inspect cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silverware prior to use
  • monitor and maintain cleanliness of assigned tables including clearing courses and proper crumbing
  • assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees
  • follow all company and safety policies and procedures, report accidents and unsafe conditions
  • ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards
  • anticipate and address guests’ service needs
  • assist individuals with disabilities
  • speak clearly and professionally
