The role of Food and Beverage Banquet Supervisor is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position reporting directly to the Food and Beverage Manager. This role is vital to ensuring that food service events run smoothly and meet the highest standards of guest satisfaction. The Banquet Supervisor leads banquet servers, including part-time, regular, and temporary staff, ensuring that all service aspects adhere to established guest relations policies. Responsibilities include assisting in pre-event planning, scheduling, staffing, and monitoring services during the event, and managing post-event duties including consumption tracking and staff feedback. The supervisor interacts professionally with guests, manages concerns and complaints, and steps in to perform server and bartender duties when necessary to maintain top-quality service.
In addition to operational duties, the Banquet Supervisor plays a critical supervisory role by leading teams during assigned shifts, assisting in hiring, training, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions in collaboration with Human Resources. This position also involves coordinating with other departments such as the Executive Chef, kitchen staff, operations crews, catering sales teams, and housekeeping to ensure seamless event execution. The role demands strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple projects under pressure, and excellent interpersonal skills to maintain positive relationships with guests, employees, and vendors. A background in catering services and terminology is essential, coupled with computer proficiency in Microsoft Office products like Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Legends Global offers a competitive salary reflecting the candidate’s experience and provides a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and a 401k plan. The position requires flexible availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and additional hours as needed. Physical demands include the ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry up to 25 pounds, maintain stamina in a fast-paced environment, and perform repetitive tasks that involve eye-hand coordination. This dynamic position is based at the Wilmington Convention Center and offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a world-class team dedicated to exceptional hospitality and event management.
