We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Banquet Supervisor to join our team. This role plays a critical part in overseeing the operation of all dining services for banquet and catering events, ensuring that all activities are consistent with our established standards. The Banquet Supervisor will work closely with the Director of Banquets, assisting in guiding the staff to meet their job expectations while maintaining a strong presence throughout each event. This position supports daily banquet and catering operations by building a high-energy, customer service-driven team and actively monitoring guest satisfaction across meetings, conferences, and dining experiences.

The role involves training, scheduling, and coaching associates, as well as collaborating with banquet chefs to enhance food expediting processes for multiple meal services. The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for upholding food safety regulations and sanitation requirements to protect both guests and staff. This leadership position requires managing resources effectively to achieve company goals related to sales, service, and quality standards. Additional responsibilities include overseeing cash handling, maintaining accurate billing, and managing beverage inventory to prevent wastage and pilferage.

On top of operational tasks, the Banquet Supervisor promotes continuous staff development and ensures adherence to opening and closing checklists. Communication is key in this role, with operational information being conveyed promptly to associates to improve efficiency. The supervisor will also fill in where necessary to ensure that guest service standards remain high and operations run smoothly.

Job Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education required
  • Minimum of two years experience in supervisory role in a restaurant or banquet setting
  • Possess or have ability to obtain Food Handlers and Tips Certification within six months of commencement of employment
  • Experience with point of sales system strongly preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge with the ability to use Word and Excel
  • Must have working knowledge of types of room set-ups, capacities to relation-type of event
  • Must have interpersonal and sales-related skills

Job Duties

  • Assist with training, scheduling, and coaching associates
  • Support Banquet director in daily operations of banquet and catering through developing a high energy, guest service focused team
  • Monitor guest service in meeting, conference, breaks and dining experience and take action to ensure service goals and satisfaction levels are attained
  • Support and demonstrate banquet and catering standards, ensuring that guest service is always in the forefront of the banquet operation and implementing plans to improve service levels with measurable goals and benchmarks
  • Collaborate with banquet chef to improve food expediting process for breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • Maintain a strong presence by visiting every meeting space at least once during the experience
  • Uphold company food safety, food handling and sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of customers and associates
