Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience working as banquet captain or banquet supervisor preferably in high volume banquet or hotel environment
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks at once
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests coworkers and management
- Strong guest service skills and ability to resolve guest issues or complaints
- Understanding of food food ingredients food preparation methods proper food storage sanitation requirements and basic bar terminology
- Ability to operate coffee machine hot box soda dispensers beer taps and related equipment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience working as banquet captain or banquet supervisor preferably in high volume banquet or hotel environment
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks at once
- Experience developing and training employees including assistant banquet manager
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests coworkers and management
- Strong guest service skills and ability to resolve guest issues or complaints
- Understanding of food food ingredients food preparation methods proper food storage sanitation requirements and basic bar terminology
- Ability to operate coffee machine hot box soda dispensers beer taps and related equipment
- Combined 3 plus years previous hotel or food and beverage service experience preferred
Job Duties
- Interview hire and train and resolve service issues
- Oversee the setup of function rooms including placement of linens silver china and glassware
- Visually inspect event space and equipment prior to functions for cleanliness proper inventory and setup
- Supervise cleanup of function room and proper breakdown and storage of equipment
- Enter billing information to generate final guest checks and post all banquet checks at end of day
- Assist with processing payroll including calculating hours worked and gratuity distribution
- Check staff attendance adjust and reassign staffing to provide quality service during functions
- Maximize guest satisfaction on every level
- Attend prefunction meetings with clients and guests to understand expectations
- Conduct prefunction meetings with service staff
- Ensure service protocol is followed by staff
- Guide timing of guest experience
- Resolve guest complaints
- Supervise and manage staff including scheduling and training
- Maintain constant communication with catering sales kitchen and banquet department team members
- Complete weekly food and beverage ordering
- Conduct monthend inventory and post in timely fashion
- Assign duties to banquet staff and supporting banquet captains
- Act as manager on duty at other f and b outlets when demands in banquet department are low
- Perform other related duties assigned by management
